Bansko ski resort is situated in South-Western Bulgaria at the foot hills of one of the most beautiful Bulgarian
mountains Pirin.The Pirin mountain is a natural preserve included in the World Natural Heritage list. The distance between Sofia and
Bansko is 160 km /max. 2 hours with car/ and 59 km southeast from Blagoevgrad /1 hour with car/.
Bansko is situated at the foot of the majestic Pirin mountains, which is a national reserve, included in the World Natural
Heritage list, 160 km from Sofia and 60 km from Blagoevgrad, at an altitude of 950 m. The town has a population of about 12,000.
Bansko provides an interesting combination of the virgin nature of the Pirin mountain and the atmosphere of the ancient Bulgarian small
towns. The town itself attracts visitors by its 120 architectural and historical monuments of culture, its museums and the permanent

Banya:
Banya is situated in the south-west of Bulgaria in a valley between the three big mountains Rila, Pirin and the Rho-dopes.
/Rila mountain is the highest on the Balkan Penin-cular/. 156 km from the capital Sofia. 3,000 inhabitants, 23% of them being
under 18. Ruins of interesting archeo-logical sites from Thracian and Medieval times were found not far from Banya.
More then 70 mineral springs with average temperature of 58?C. Banya is extremely attractive with its open-air swimming pools
with mineral water which are near the public baths. The old bath /1735/ is interesting with its architecture. In English the
word "Banya" means bath.
4 churches, several small chapels. The interior of Sveti Georgi Church /1834/ is of great artistic value. Flower greenhouses
full of roses, carnations, dahlias etc. Local icon- painters, wood-carvers, masters in weaving traditional textiles and
embroidery.
Small beautiful parks. A number of folk-restaurants /taverns/ that are decorated in the old traditional style. They offer
delicious specialties of the local cuisine.
Dobrinishte:
Dobrinishte is the most famous balneological resort in Pirin mountain. The village is located only at the distance of 6 km.
to the east of Bansko. It is one of the largest villages in the country with a population of over 3000 inhabitants. From
ancient times it is famous with its mineral springs. There are 17 mineral springs with water temperature between 30 and 43 C,
as well as a big mineral public bath. The mineral water is with slight mineralization. The resort is recommended for balneo
and climate treatment. The natural wealth and the equipment, as well as the near ski runs of Bezbog peak, make the resort
one of the most visited mountain resorts. There are a lot of healing establishments, and open pool with hot mineral water.

The healing mineral water of Dobrinishte village consists of mineral, hyperthermal, sulphate, sodium, fluorine, silicon water.

At the distance of 11 km. is located the Gotse Delshev chalet (1600 meters above the sea level) and when one reach there, can use the two – chair lift to reach to the Bezbog chalet (2240 meters above the sea level. This is a zone with well served 2 drags, lift – 3100 long and displacement 840 meters. The region is very suitable also and for summer tourism. There are a number of private hotels in the village as well as a House of Tourism.
There is a bus line to Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Razlog, Bansko, Gotze Delchev, etc. The bus station is near the railway station, about 1 km east of Dobrinishte.
