Bulgarian winter resorts cut prices in half after the end of the Christmas holidays. Some hotels have lowered their tariffs by between
30 and 50 per cent. Currently the cheapest accommodation for one night in Bansko costs 15 leva. Accommodation in private lodging or
small family hotels is cheapest. Luxury hotels also decreased their charges. Depending on the services offered, clients pay between 70
and 100 leva a night, Standart newspaper reported.
Most of the accommodation in Bansko is already booked until January 12, said the head of the tourism business association at the resort,
Iana Rahova. More than 6000 skiers decided to spend their winter vacation in Bansko. Since January 2, Pamporovo resort has also been
offering lower prices. Accommodation in the resort will be available after January 15, as for now hotels are already booked. Borovets
will start lowering prices after January 7. The season in the resort will be officially opened on Saturday. A second price decrease
will come into effect after March 15.
